Oh man, I got so much to say this time around. We've got one heck of a party going on today! The original five of the Crusaders of Rune Midgard are here! I didn't realize today was the Super Bowl (big "American football" annual match for those who don't know) until Nth Power informed me. This idea popped into my head, and it's based mostly around my nickname for male crusaders—linebackers.
Lots of references to football here, and not just because there's Crusaders playing football. For one—the title is referring not only to, well, Crusaders playing football, but also to the "Holy War" matches between Boston College and Notre Dame, two Christian universities here in the United States, that have deep football rivalries. Matches played between them are called "Holy War."
Damn, does Polarias know how to sack or what? Behold as he invokes the strength of one of the greatest superheroes of our time—ARTIE! THE STRONGEST MAN ... IN THE WORLD.
I'm not lying here. Artie is like, my role model. I wouldn't want to be his body double, though. I wouldn't look good in striped blue and red pajamas.
Oh—it bears mentioning, because this kind of thing invites wars of a much less enjoyable nature: whenever I say "football" here, I'm referring to the American gridiron flavor. ("Gridiron" would be a much more awesome name, I think!) The problem is, a lot of the world considers the "one true football" to be soccer (which our term for "associative football." No really!) ... but there's more footballs out there! Rugby is fully known as "rugby football," for example. The Canadians have a version of our "gridiron" football that they call football, and they use "soccer" to refer to FIFA's Favorite Football, like we do. The Australians also call it soccer, because they have a sport distinct from all the above that they call football!
That's a lot of feet and balls!
