Rambling

For those tuning in, I had a bad case of writer's block over the weekend; the previous week, Lenz had a birthday, so I had to make this week's comic concerning him (else he'd probably stab me with that clicky pen).

I couldn't think of anything funny!

Then I had a power meeting with Lenz and Tristan ... this is what came of it.

They said a few keywords and finally something clicked in my head.

Finally I found the time to redraw Tristan!

When I first made drew his Paladin self, I was going directly off of the sprite, since I couldn't find Myung-Jin Lee's concept art.

Now that I have, I've made him much shinier!

It might not be too obvious in this panel, but Lenz is stabbing a Fabre, and it's starting to morph, Ragnarok: The Animation style. If you've never seen it, it's ... creepy when it happens. Looks more like a new monster summoned by bursting out of the old one!

And, for those RW readers who have not played RO (I KNOW there's a few of you), a Fabre is a novice-fodder caterpillar.

One as big as your head, but still soft and easily squashed.

That blue blurry thing is Eclipse, a Lunatic (rabbit-like) miniboss.

So! With that out of the way, I would like to pass on some words of wisdom: you should never trust the gravy boat.

It may bring good tidings in the form of gravy, but it secretly designs to drown you with napalm.

And you don't want that.

Also, gravy does not go well with lunatic fur.

I wouldn't know, but, well, it's hard not to notice when a lunatic explodes. The fur gets everywhere.

I secretly think lunatic fur is akin to dust. There must be some correlation! Lunatics are bunnies, and their fur gets on everything, like so much dust. THEY MUST BE DUST BUNNIES!*&$*!

Except ... dust ... doesn't make good filling for pillows or liner for boots.

Okay, so maybe they're not dust, but something certainly close to it. Just look at this field, covered in the furry remains of Eclipse! It's like, a fadey-blue cotton field. Of blue cotton.

That's where they make all the jeans that blacksmiths
and mastersmiths wear, yanno.

Blue cotton. You might've thought it was denim, but you are WRONG, sir! That's why Eclipses are so rare!

In closing, I'd like to wish Lenz a belated happy 22nd birthday, and may he burn happily ever after! That crafty El Blargo ...
